The Animal Sanctuary – Kanab, Utah
Angel Canyon, the home of Best Friends, is a miracle of nature, millions of years in the making. For thousands of abused and abandoned animals, what happens here every day is a miracle of love. Best Friends is the perfect place to visit: help the animals, explore the natural wonders of the southwest, and find peace within oneself. Angel Canyon, home of Best Friends, has been a place of peace and healing for thousands of years, dating back to when the ancestral Pueblo people gathered here to seek spiritual guidance. Today, visitors from all over the world still find sanctuary here among the beauty, graceful harmony, and peaceful atmosphere of Angel Canyon. Best Friends is also in the heart of the Golden Circle of national parks of the Southwest, including the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and Lake Powell. The Animals – On any given day, there are about 1,500 dogs, cats and other animals who have come to the sanctuary for special care from shelters and rescue groups all across the country. Once they’re here, we make sure nothing bad will ever happen to them again. Many of them are soon ready to go to good new homes with loving families. Others find lifetime care here at the nation’s largest sanctuary. For them, Best Friends is a unique home and haven. There’s just nothing else like it anywhere.
